Intricate viewpoint plaque showing the wrecks and other interests offshore. In the late 1950’s the author went to school beside Johnshaven and well remembers Murray McBay who could store lobsters in seawater tanks, his son Ivor and his family still export shellfish throughout the Continent and to the Far East. Johnshaven holds an annual fish festival and also has an active environmental group called SHARK whose records do not mention the balls of peanuts which used to come ashore during a storm ! the results of a shipwreck.
