Sign Industries can etch all types of brass. We have found that it is best used indoors, brass tarnishes very quickly outside and can look quite awful. We have a lacquer coating for indoor use although there is nothing nicer than a well polished unvarnishedbrass sign, even if the paint is wearing out !
Because of the polishing and tarnishing problems there is a trend towardsmaking door and office signs in coated brass, plastics and Rowmark engraving materials, providing a smart traditional appearance with no maintenance.
This example of real brass has both reverse and normal etching.
